Tony Cheney is a Consultant Solicitor at Cheney Suthers Lawyers and the founder of the practice, having established the firm in Orange in 1980. With over four decades of legal experience, Tony brings an extraordinary depth of knowledge in commercial law, property law and business and farm succession planning to his consulting role, continuing to serve the firm’s clients with the same practical, experienced counsel that has defined his career.

Tony’s legal practice has always been grounded in commercial and property law, with a particular focus on business succession planning and the transfer of business and property assets. He works closely with accountants and financial advisors to help clients navigate the complex decisions involved in structuring, growing and ultimately transitioning their businesses and property holdings. He served as Chair of Philip Shaw Wines and as a Council Member of Kinross Wolaroi School Council for twenty-one years, including seven years as Chair, until his retirement from that role in 2018, and continues to provide advisory services to various organisations and local government committees across the region.
